How to root samsung galaxy s2

Just follow the steps mentioned there won't be panic and there won't be worries .... it will be smooth :) ;) This is for 4.0 and above

Pre Requisite : you should have samsung kies or sumsung USB drivers for your phone must be installed in pc


Step1:
In your smartphone go to Applications --> Settings --> Developer Options --> enable USB debugging mode

Step2:
Applications --> Settings --> About phone --> goto kernel
find your version
XXLPT or XXLS8 or XXLP1 etc many more

Step3:
Download CF root for your kernel version from below xda-developers link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Example: CF-Root-SGS2_XW_NEE_LPT-v5.6-CWM5.zip
This was for my galaxy s2 for XWLPT kernel version.

Step4:
Download Odin from below link

Step5:
Unzip CF root and odin Zip files.

Step6:
Once you unzip CF root you will see a tar file and Odin will be an dexe application file

Step7:
Boot your s2 to download mode (press volume down+home+power buttons at a time) once it is in download mode connect to USB cable
and press volume up. phone screen will show as downloading leave phone like that.

Step8:
open Odin (run as Administrator) you will see a yellow highlighted space where it says com14 orcom12 that means your s2 is detected.
Click on pda browse to the CF root tar file and select the file.
Don't change any option in Odin, just click on start.
There will be blue progress bar on phone screen once that completes
s2 will reboot

There will be yellow exclamation at reboot don worry about that.
once you are home screen click on applications you can see two new one's.

1. CWM (Clock work mod recovery)
2. Super SU

This means your phone is rooted and have fun :) :) :P
